Buk-gu Invites Professor Alhassan Yasin
Presents Potential Applications in Industry and Public Administration
On December 8 at 3:00 p.m., Buk-gu, Gwangju will host a special lecture titled 'Gwangju Sovereign AI, The Future We Create' at the Buk-gu Cultural Center, inviting Alhassan Yasin, a leading authority on artificial intelligence, NASA collaboration leader, and professor at Johns Hopkins University.
According to Buk-gu on December 3, this lecture has been organized to present a smart city vision that leads sovereign AI based on Gwangju's AI industrial ecosystem. Around 300 participants, including business representatives, young people, public officials, and residents, are expected to attend.
Professor Yasin will share vivid examples from the field of artificial intelligence research and outline the direction of the Gwangju Sovereign AI Project, as well as its potential applications in local industry and public administration. The event will proceed in the following order: a keynote speech by Professor Park Jeongsu of Sungkyunkwan University, the special lecture by Professor Yasin, and a discussion session with attendees.
District Mayor Moon In stated, "AI technology is a key driver for enhancing regional competitiveness," and added, "Through cooperation with domestic and international expert organizations and researchers, we will develop Buk-gu into an AI-based innovation city."
