Wando County Highly Recognized for Pioneering Overseas Markets
Four Local Companies Win Export Tower Awards
Young Entrepreneur Jeong Daehan Receives Commendation for Export Excellence
Wando County in Jeonnam Province received the Excellence Award among 22 cities and counties in the "2025 Jeonnam Agricultural and Marine Food Export Excellence City and County Evaluation." On December 1, Wando County announced that it was highly recognized for its efforts to pioneer overseas markets.
This evaluation consisted of a first quantitative assessment based on agricultural and marine food export performance and growth rate from October of last year to September of this year, and a second qualitative assessment that reviewed each local government's export support policies and overseas marketing efforts. Wando County's proactive initiatives to expand overseas sales channels drew particular attention during this process.

Since 2016, the county has operated the "Jangbogo Merchant Group," consistently exploring overseas opportunities for Wando's marine products. This year, the county aggressively promoted its products by holding seven overseas promotional events, participating in two export consultation sessions, and attending three international food exhibitions, thereby enhancing the brand value of Wando's seafood.
At the "Jeonnam Agricultural, Forestry, and Livestock Export Tower Awards Ceremony" held on the same day, four export companies based in Wando County received Export Tower Awards. Bada Myungga Co., Ltd. was recognized for 5 million dollars in exports, Haemiwon Fisheries Cooperative for 1 million dollars, Pureunjeong Food Co., Ltd. for 500,000 dollars, and Wando Bada Fisheries Cooperative for 200,000 dollars in exports.
Notably, Jeong Daehan, CEO of Daehan Mulsan Co., Ltd., received a commendation for export excellence in Jeonnam Province. Despite his young age, CEO Jeong has been at the forefront of pioneering overseas markets and expanding exports for Wando's marine products.
Shin Woochul, Governor of Wando County, stated, "The efforts of the county and local export companies are bearing fruit," and added, "We will further expand our export base by inviting buyers from around the world to the International Seaweed Expo to be held in May next year and hosting export consultation meetings."
Wando County, a region specializing in seaweed and marine products, is accelerating its global market strategy by conducting diverse overseas marketing activities every year, focusing on abalone, laver, and sea mustard.
