The participating institutions introduced the cases they have implemented over the past year, including: the operation of pilot schools for the Early Childhood School pilot project; integrated education connecting kindergartens and daycare centers; integrated education connecting daycare centers and elementary schools; and family and community cooperation curricula. They also discussed improvements identified on site and ways to enhance cooperation with parents and the local community.
Based on the achievements and areas for improvement identified through this year's pilot project, the Provincial Office of Education plans to gradually expand the number of pilot institutions starting in 2026, and to establish an education and care system with strengthened connections between institutions.
Additionally, the office published and distributed a booklet titled "Integrated Childcare Pilot Project Case Sharing Collection," which compiles this year's operational experiences. The booklet contains cases of pilot school operations, methods for implementing integrated education, and practical examples of family and community cooperation curricula, and is expected to serve as a valuable resource for enhancing field implementation.
Superintendent Kim Daejung stated, "Integrated childcare is extremely important as it represents a shift in the education system with a focus on children's growth and development," adding, "Based on the experiences accumulated together by the field and the education office, we will spare no effort to ensure that an integrated childcare model that benefits children becomes naturally established in the field."
