Community Chest NFT Issued to Coincide with the Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign
Proceeds from NFT Sales to Be Converted to Cash and Used to Support Households in Crisis and Isolation in Local Communities
The Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byungjoon) announced on November 28 that it will issue the ‘Community Chest NFT’ in collaboration with Dunamu’s NFT (Non-fungible token) platform ‘Upbit NFT’ and content creator ‘GBF Meta’ starting December 1. This initiative aims to expand the digital asset donation market and foster a new donation culture.
This NFT issuance was launched to promote digital asset donations and honor digital asset donors during the ‘Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign’ period. Starting December 1, one type of NFT will be available for sale, and two types will be distributed as non-sale items. Two additional types are scheduled to be issued later.
The sale NFT, ‘Build-up for Change,’ is inspired by the ‘Community Chest Thermometer’ at Gwanghwamun Square and visualizes the accumulation of sharing expanding into the light of hope through voxel art. It will be available for purchase from December 1 to 14, and further issuance and sale schedules are under discussion.
‘Build-up for Change’ will be sold in a limited edition of 2,000 units through Upbit NFT, with each NFT priced at 5 Tether (USDT). The seller, GBF Meta, plans to donate a portion of the sales proceeds as digital assets to the Community Chest of Korea. The donated digital assets will be converted to cash and used to identify and support single-person households in crisis or isolation within local communities, providing assistance for heating costs, living expenses, groceries, and other support for a warm winter.
The non-sale NFTs for high-value digital asset donors will be distributed to ‘Digital Sharing Leaders’ who donate over 10 million won, ‘Digital Sharing Ambassadors’ who are new donors contributing over 100 million won, and existing high-value donors in the ‘Honor Society.’ These non-sale NFTs are designed as digital artworks to symbolize the honorable sharing of donors with the Community Chest of Korea, spreading as a light of hope that warms society.
Additional rewards will also be offered to NFT buyers. All buyers who successfully purchase an NFT during the sale period will receive a coffee coupon. Additionally, 10 buyers will be selected by lottery to receive a Community Chest character figure and 10 will receive a character print. Furthermore, among participants who upload a purchase certification post on Instagram, 100 will be selected by lottery to receive a coffee coupon.
The ‘Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign’ is a nationwide year-end and New Year fundraising campaign conducted by the Community Chest of Korea for 62 days from December 1 of this year to January 31 of next year. This year’s fundraising target is 450 billion won, and under the slogan ‘Donations That Add Happiness, Tomorrow Changed by Giving,’ the campaign will be held simultaneously in 17 cities and provinces across the country.
