The Remote Medical Collaboration Project for medically underserved areas is a program in which medical professionals at local public health institutions provide telemedicine services using information and communication technology (ICT) to local residents, aiming to bridge healthcare disparities. Currently, public health subcenters, public health clinics, and private medical institutions are participating together in the project.
In particular, this year, Wonju City Public Health Center contributed to the efficient operation of the project by strengthening the cooperation system between local public health institutions and private medical institutions. Through collaboration with related organizations, it brought two hospitals and five clinics on board as consulting medical institutions for the telemedicine project.
Won Kangsu, Mayor of Wonju, stated, "Through this project, we will eliminate healthcare blind spots and continue to identify eligible individuals to do our utmost for the health management of residents in medically underserved areas."
