This program was implemented as part of the "Corporate Customized Job Creation" business agreement signed in March between Wonju City, the Wonju Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Korea Polytechnic University Wonju Campus, and DS Techno Co., Ltd.
Under this agreement, each organization is cooperating as follows: ▲ (Wonju City) providing guidance on trainee recruitment, strengthening job matching and connections with relevant institutions; ▲ (Wonju Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor) supporting companies and job matching through related policies and incentive programs; ▲ (Korea Polytechnic University Wonju Campus) operating corporate-customized training courses and supporting trainee employment; ▲ (DS Techno Co., Ltd.) offering trainees priority hiring opportunities and providing feedback on the training program.
Meanwhile, DS Techno Co., Ltd. is a semiconductor materials and components specialist headquartered in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province. It is the only company in Korea that manufactures carbide (SiC), silicon (Si), and quartz parts, supplying them to Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Intel, among others. The Munmak plant in Wonju will focus on silicon (Si) production.
Mayor Kangsu Won stated, "This completion ceremony will help prevent the outflow of the young population, revitalize the local economy, and serve as an important foundation for Wonju to grow as a hub of the semiconductor industry. We will actively support timely connections between companies and the talent they need."
