Survey of 129 Job Categories... Wage Increase Compared to June Last Year
'Metal Material Quality Controllers' Top the List at 178,000 Won
The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business announced the results of the '2025 Second Half Wage Survey by Job Category in Small and Medium Manufacturing Industries' on November 27. This survey targeted 1,500 small and medium manufacturing companies with annual sales of at least 3 billion won and at least 10 full-time employees.
As of August this year, the average daily wage for production workers across 129 job categories in small and medium manufacturing industries was 114,682 won. This represents an increase of 3.6% compared to 110,684 won in June 2024, and an 8.4% rise compared to 105,773 won in August 2023.

By major job category, the surveyed wage for parts assemblers was 105,323 won, up 7.0% from the previous year's 98,387 won. The daily wage for team leaders (139,712 won) and simple laborers (90,694 won) also rose by 3.2% and 0.7%, respectively.
Among all job categories, 'metal material quality managers' had the highest average daily wage at 178,350 won, while 'shoe manufacturing machine operators' had the lowest at 83,388 won.
