Hyundai Glovis Achieves 'A Grade' in Governance Category of ESG Evaluation for 7 Consecutive Years

Hyundai Glovis announced on November 26 that it has received an 'A grade' for the seventh consecutive year in the governance category of the '2025 Listed Companies ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Evaluation' announced by the Korea ESG Standards Institute (KCGS).

The Korea ESG Standards Institute is a leading domestic ESG evaluation agency with high credibility. Since 2003, it has annually assessed the management performance of listed companies in Korea, publishing evaluation grades in three categories: Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G).

In this year's evaluation, Hyundai Glovis received an A grade in the governance category for the seventh consecutive year. The company was highly rated for its efforts to enhance shareholder rights, including the operation of a transparent audit organization and information disclosure centered around a board of directors composed of a majority of outside directors, as well as the protection of shareholder interests.

Furthermore, as interest in corporate governance from various stakeholders continues to rise, Hyundai Glovis introduced a lead independent director system and newly established both an independent directors committee and a compensation committee, each composed entirely of outside directors. Going forward, the company plans to further strengthen its governance by continuously enhancing the independence, expertise, and diversity of its board, including the additional appointment of female outside directors.

This year's evaluation covered 1,024 listed companies. As evaluation standards have recently become more stringent and the overall grades for listed companies have generally declined, Hyundai Glovis has nevertheless received an overall 'A grade' for the second consecutive year.

The company also received an A grade in the environmental category, thanks to efforts such as expanding the number of business sites certified for environmental management systems and strengthening the management of ship exhaust emissions in line with its carbon neutrality roadmap.

In the social category, Hyundai Glovis achieved the highest grade, 'A+'. The company was highly rated for its achievements in strengthening workplace safety and health, awarding scholarships to prospective maritime talent, and investing in equity in standard workplaces for people with disabilities.

Hyundai Glovis has established the slogan 'Clean Flow, Make Together' to signify its commitment to creating a clean flow across the environmental, social, and governance sectors. The company is implementing ESG management by establishing its vision and strategy under this slogan.

Recently, Hyundai Glovis also enhanced its status as a global logistics company by joining the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), which was launched by the United Nations to promote sustainable and balanced development.

Additionally, Hyundai Glovis became the first Korean logistics company to be included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for four consecutive years, an index that measures the sustainable management performance of global companies.

A Hyundai Glovis official stated, "As a responsible member of society, Hyundai Glovis will continue to strengthen ESG management and build trust with stakeholders to ensure sustainable development for all."
