Held Simultaneously in Over 200 Countries During the Third Week of November Each Year
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it will host the "2025 Global Entrepreneurship Week Korea (GEW KOREA 2025)" from November 18 to 23, spanning six days at venues including the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week is held simultaneously in over 200 countries during the third week of November each year. The event summarizes and shares the achievements of entrepreneurship-related activities over the past year and explores ways to advance entrepreneurship.
This year’s event in Korea is themed "80th Anniversary of Liberation: Reinvigorating Tomorrow with Korean-Style AI and Entrepreneurship." It will explore entrepreneurship as the driving force behind national reconstruction after liberation and draw policy implications from history. Additionally, more than 700 participants are expected to join both online and offline to discuss strategies for spreading entrepreneurship in the upcoming era of AI transformation (AX).
The opening ceremony on November 18 featured the official proclamation of the week, commendations for young entrepreneurs and other contributors to the spread of entrepreneurship over the past year, and a keynote speech by Chairman Han Junghwa under the theme "80 Years of Liberation, 80 Years of Entrepreneurship."
On this day, awards were presented to 26 individuals in the youth entrepreneurship promotion category, 10 in the entrepreneurship promotion and advancement category, 7 for outstanding cases of entrepreneurship education, and 19 in the entrepreneurship content competition category, with a total of 62 people receiving commendations.
On November 20, a talk concert will be held through a startup field tour open to anyone interested in entrepreneurship, providing a Q&A session with young entrepreneurs. On November 21, "Entrepreneurship Movie Day" will feature screenings of selected AI-related films and serve as a public relations-focused event where attendees can share insights on the potential expansion of the AI-based cultural industry. On November 22, excellent entrepreneurship education cases from elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide will be shared, along with the background of introducing the "Youth Entrepreneurship" textbook and a guide for its application.
All events can be pre-registered on the official website, and the opening ceremony and talk concert will be available through the YouTube channel of the Korea Youth Entrepreneurship Foundation.
