Officially Invited as a Private Sector Partner Alongside Meta
S2W announced on the 17th that it participated in the global joint operation "Cyberprotect II," led by INTERPOL and Europol, the law enforcement agency of the European Union.
The operation, code-named "Cyberprotect II," was a large-scale global joint operation in the form of a hackathon held at INTERPOL's headquarters in Lyon, France, from October 15 to 17. Investigators dispatched from ten countries took part in the operation, which aimed to identify and dismantle criminal networks by disrupting the activities of online human trafficking and illegal migration smuggling organizations that are spreading worldwide.
As a result of the operation, authorities investigated a total of 79 potential smuggling facilitators and operators, 175 documents and files related to illegal immigration and human trafficking brokerage, 269 social media and messaging accounts and URLs, phone numbers registered in 29 countries, and information on forged travel and identification documents issued in 11 countries.
Another achievement of the operation was that the data analyzed included not only quantified figures but also comprehensive analyses of patterns and characteristics of perpetrators, such as those observed during the advertising or negotiation of crimes. By interpreting the context of the data and the relationships between pieces of information, authorities were able to gain a multi-dimensional understanding of criminal structures, which can help suppress and prevent the recurrence of similar crimes.
S2W, together with Meta in the United States, was officially invited as a major private sector partner in this operation, providing data and AI analysis technology. S2W plans to continue expanding its overseas business by targeting foreign judicial and investigative agencies and will actively cooperate in transnational efforts to combat international crime.
S2W CEO Suh Sangduk said, "We want to continue actively participating in international cooperative activities and demonstrate that Korea's AI and security technology is at a world-class level."
