Hongcheon County Holds "Military Personnel Idea Results Presentation"
361 Participants from 94 Teams Share Ideas for Regional Development
On November 13, Hongcheon County in Gangwon Province held the final results presentation of the "2025 Hongcheon County Military Personnel Idea Contest" at the Hongcheon Cultural Center.

The event was attended by Shin Youngjae, Mayor of Hongcheon County; Kwon Hyukdong, Commander of the 11th Maneuver Division; Park Seho, Commander of the 20th Armored Brigade; Jeong Jinwoong, Commander of the 3rd Armored Brigade; Lee Hyunsik, Commander of the 1st Transport Training Regiment; as well as other military commanders, service members, and officials from Hongcheon County, totaling around 200 participants.
The Military Personnel Idea Results Presentation is recognized as an exemplary case of cooperation among the military, local government, and civilian sectors, as service members stationed in the region contribute to addressing local issues.
This year, a total of 361 participants across 94 teams took part in the contest. After the first round of document screening and a second round of in-person evaluations, nine teams were selected to present their ideas. Of these, seven teams proposed strategies for revitalizing the local economy, tourism, culture, and increasing the residential population, while two teams focused on ideas for public-private-military cooperation.
As a result of the evaluation, the grand prize was awarded to the "Came for Reconnaissance" team from the 11th Division, which proposed the creation of a one-pyeong rest area as a branding strategy to innovate public design in Hongcheon County.
The top excellence award went to the "Our Child Visited Hongcheon First" team from the 20th Armored Brigade, which suggested the "Meta Frozen Festival." The excellence awards were given to three teams: "We Drew Hongcheon" and "Minji and the Kids" from the 11th Maneuver Division, and "Since We Were Born, Let's Tour Hongcheon" from the 3rd Armored Brigade.
The encouragement awards were given to the "Hongmyeodeulda," "Dreaming Elephant," and "Cheollima School Bus" teams from the 11th Maneuver Division, and the "Art Story" team from the 1st Transport Brigade.
Shin Youngjae, Mayor of Hongcheon County, stated, "I expect that the creative and practical ideas of military personnel will contribute to regional development," adding, "We will continue to strengthen cooperation with the military to promote the sustainable development of the local community."
This event showcased the achievements of collaboration between military personnel and the local community, further highlighting its significance as a regional development model where the public, private sector, and military thrive together.
