Mayor Yuk Donghan Hosts "2025 Regional Architecture Development Meeting"
Key Issues Discussed: Architectural Regulatory Reform and Expanded Expert Participation
On November 13, Chuncheon Mayor Yuk Donghan met with local architects to discuss regional architectural regulatory reforms and directions for policy improvement.

On this day, Chuncheon City held the "2025 Regional Architecture Development Meeting" at the City Hall Multipurpose Conference Room. The event was attended by more than 40 local architects, including Song Seongguk, President of the Chuncheon Regional Architects Association.
During the meeting, in-depth discussions were held on a variety of topics, including: strategies to advance architecture in Chuncheon City; the continued promotion and regularization of architectural meetings; and expanding the participation of architecture-related experts in policy-making processes.
One local architect stated, "If the city increases the participation of local architects in academic conferences or forums it organizes, it will have a positive effect on both policy development and implementation." The attendees also agreed to establish a practical cooperative system to enhance the region's architectural capabilities and improve the quality of life for citizens.
Through this meeting, the city reached a consensus on promoting regular meetings and plans to actively expand opportunities for local experts to participate so that their opinions can be widely reflected in future policy development and implementation. Meanwhile, the Chuncheon Regional Architects Association donated 3 million won to Chuncheon City to support vulnerable groups in the region and also held a performance expressing their hopes for attracting an international skating rink to Chuncheon.
Mayor Yuk Donghan said, "Architecture in Chuncheon is not just about constructing buildings, but is an important element that preserves the lives of citizens and the memory of the city. I will listen carefully to every opinion shared here today with the architects and strive to reflect them in policies and projects."
