Dr. Kwan Jay Cho is the CEO of IMPAC (International Mid Pac College), an English education institution in the United States authorized to issue student visas (i-20). He is a key figure in facilitating exchanges between the Hawaii Department of Education and numerous high schools and universities.
A 1973 graduate of Dong-A University’s Business Administration Department and a member of the 15th ROTC class, he has contributed to expanding practical exchanges by establishing a cooperative network between his alma mater and educational institutions in Hawaii since 2023.
Recently, he supported a visit to Dong-A University’s Seunghak Campus and an industrial tour of Samsung Heavy Industries in Geoje by a delegation led by Keith Hayashi, Superintendent of the Hawaii Department of Education, thereby broadening the scope of exchanges connecting education and industry.
During the delegation’s visit, Dr. Cho delivered the 10 million KRW development fund to President Lee Haeu on the spot, stating, “I am pleased to contribute to my alma mater in a meaningful way,” and added, “I will continue to play even a small role in promoting more active exchanges between Dong-A University and educational institutions in Hawaii.”
President Lee Haeu expressed, “The interest and participation of alumni active around the world are invaluable assets to Dong-A University,” and added, “I am especially grateful to Dr. Kwan Jay Cho for paving the way for exchanges with overseas educational institutions.”
Dong-A University plans to use this donation as an opportunity to continuously expand student exchanges, language training, and global education programs with the Hawaii Department of Education and local high schools.
