"From Safety Training to Employment Counseling"... Yangsan City Successfully Concludes Public Worker Safety Training and Visiting Job Center

A Comprehensive Program for Public Job Participants
Focusing on Safety, Health, and Employment

The public work program is breaking the stereotype of being just a “short-term part-time job.”

On November 13, Yangsan City (Mayor Na Dongyeon) held industrial safety and health training for participants in the second half of 2025 public work programs, as well as a Visiting Job Center, at the Business Center Convention Hall.

This event brought together 318 participants from the public work and local community job programs, offering industrial safety training, customized employment counseling, and hands-on side events.

In the morning, a professional instructor from the Gyeongnam Eastern Branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency provided workplace safety management guidelines for public job sites, focusing on preventive measures against frequent winter accidents such as falls, slips, and collisions.

In the afternoon, the Visiting Job Center operated 10 counseling booths where job counselors offered job-seeking consultations, information on hiring companies, and details about government job programs. This strengthened the support system for smooth transition to private sector jobs after the program ends.

This event went beyond simple training by offering a variety of safety and health-focused side activities, allowing participants to experience firsthand the importance of safety and well-being.

At one section of the venue, Yangsan Bethesda Gospel Hospital operated a health management booth offering osteoporosis screening, while other areas featured fatigue recovery corners with foot and hand massagers, kiosk experiences by the Digital Learning Center, nail art activities, and bodyweight exercise programs. These allowed public workers to care for both their physical health and emotional vitality.

In particular, the bodyweight exercise sessions with an exercise prescription specialist were met with enthusiastic participation, reinforcing the event’s message that a healthy body is essential for safe work.

An official from Yangsan City stated, “This training and counseling event was organized to support both the safety and employment linkage of public job program participants,” adding, “We will continue our efforts to create an environment where citizens can work with peace of mind.”
