Guri City Launches 5% Extra Cashback and Payment Event for Guri Love Gift Certificate
Year-End Consumption Boost with Incentive Funds from Outstanding Supplementary Budget Execution
Guri City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyunghyun) announced on November 13 that it will implement the 'Guri Love Gift Certificate Year-End 5% Cashback Support Project' from November 17 to December 31.
This project is being carried out using national incentive funds secured by being selected as an 'Outstanding Local Government in Budget Execution' in the evaluation of the 2025 First Supplementary Budget (May to August) execution results. The project may end early if the budget is exhausted. Through this initiative, the city aims to stimulate citizen spending and provide tangible support to boost sales for local small businesses.
In particular, this budget is significant as it consists of national incentive funds awarded for outstanding supplementary budget execution, recognizing Guri City's speed and efficiency in fiscal management by the government.
This cashback project can be used at all Guri Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores, including those on public delivery apps. The 5% cashback is automatically credited only to the user's recharged balance at the time of payment, and policy allowances such as livelihood recovery coupons are excluded from eligibility.
Each individual can receive benefits up to a maximum of 100,000 won, and the credited cashback can be used until March 31, 2026.
Alongside the cashback support, Guri City will also run a citizen participation 'Year-End Guri Love Gift Certificate Payment Event.' From November 24 to December 7, citizens who make payments above a certain amount using the Guri Love Gift Certificate will be eligible for a prize draw to receive incentives.
Fifty winners who spend at least 100,000 won at discounted affiliate stores will each receive 50,000 won. At general affiliate stores, a total of 125 winners who spend at least 200,000 won will be selected to receive 50,000 won (25 people), 30,000 won (40 people), or 10,000 won (60 people).
Currently, Guri City has increased the Guri Love Gift Certificate incentive rate to 10% and raised the monthly purchase limit per person to 1 million won. Through this expanded incentive, the 5% cashback, and the payment event, the city expects to enhance citizens' spending capacity and establish a virtuous cycle that revitalizes the local economy. In particular, it is anticipated that this will provide a substantial boost in sales for small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn.
Mayor Baek Kyunghyun stated, "This 5% cashback support and payment event for the Guri Love Gift Certificate is a meaningful project that shares the city's recognized fiscal management achievements with citizens. I hope many citizens will participate so that warm year-end spending can translate into renewed vitality for the local business community."
