This program, organized by Institut Pasteur Korea and supported by Seongnam City, is a supplementary project aimed at nurturing talent in the bioindustry sector. It offers university students residing in Seongnam the opportunity to experience global-level research environments firsthand.
The research institute will select a total of five interns across five departments: Advanced Biomedical Research Laboratory, Applied Molecular Biochemistry Laboratory, AI Drug Discovery Laboratory, Screening Platform Laboratory, and Business Operations Office. Eligible applicants are first- to fourth-year university students majoring in life sciences, medical sciences, or engineering, who are registered residents of Seongnam as of the announcement date.
The internship will run for five weeks, from January 5 to February 6, 2026, at Institut Pasteur Korea, located in Bundang-gu, Seongnam City. Participating students will gain hands-on experience in core biohealth research fields such as disease research, drug development, and infectious disease response. They will also have opportunities to participate in mentoring by researchers, scientific seminars, and research exchange programs.
Participants will receive various benefits, including up to 1.5 million won in activity support for the five-week period, laboratory safety insurance, one-on-one mentoring with researchers, and networking programs.
Applications will be accepted via email from the 17th to 4:00 p.m. on the 27th. Successful candidates will be notified individually on December 8.
In addition to this internship program, Seongnam City is continuously promoting various bio talent development initiatives in cooperation with Institut Pasteur Korea, such as the 'Youth Bio Career Exploration Program.' Through these efforts, the city provides step-by-step research and career exploration opportunities for both youth and university students, thereby strengthening the foundation of local talent to realize 'Seongnam as a Bio Innovation City.'
A Seongnam City official stated, "This internship is a meaningful opportunity for university students in Seongnam to experience the field of a world-class research institution and grow," adding, "We will continue to expand bio talent development programs for both youth and university students in the future."
