Na Dongyeon Unanimously Re-elected as Chairperson of the Nakdong River Council
210 Million Won Budget Approved, Tourism Promotion in Nakdong River Region Enhanced
The Nakdong River Council, chaired by Yangsan Mayor Na Dongyeon, held its 2nd regular meeting on the 10th at a restaurant in Gangseo-gu, Busan. During the meeting, the council deliberated and approved key agenda items, including the finalization of the 2026 project budget and the election of the third-term chairperson.
The meeting was attended by all seven heads of local governments: Na Dongyeon, Mayor of Yangsan; Hong Taeyong, Mayor of Gimhae; An Byunggu, Mayor of Miryang; Oh Taewon, Mayor of Buk-gu; Cho Byeonggil, Mayor of Sasang-gu; Kim Hyeongchan, Mayor of Gangseo-gu; and Lee Gapjun, Mayor of Saha-gu. They discussed the direction of joint projects for the council in the coming year.

The council set the 2026 budget at a total of 210 million won, with each of the seven local governments contributing 30 million won. The main projects for next year include: the Nakdong River Mobile Stamp Tour (60 million won), joint promotion of the Nakdong River Festa festival (20 million won), and two new initiatives.
The newly launched "Nakdong River City Tour" project (25 million won) is a regional tourism cooperation initiative aimed at realizing a connected Nakdong River where enjoyment is seamlessly linked. The project will design themed courses connecting major tourist attractions in the seven municipalities and will be operated by a professional travel agency.
Another new initiative is the "Influencer Collaboration Fam Tour" (50 million won), which aims to strengthen joint tourism promotion channels. Influencers will experience local resources such as tourism, festivals, and cuisine in the Nakdong River region, then create and share reviews and video content on social media. This will visually convey the connectivity and identity of the seven cities within the Nakdong River storyline.
For the second agenda item, Na Dongyeon, Mayor of Yangsan, was unanimously re-elected as the third-term chairperson of the Nakdong River Council. This decision was made in consideration of the council's continuity, stable operation, and its achievements to date.
On the same day, the heads of the member municipalities attended the "3rd Nakdong River Council Park Golf Tournament" held at Daejeo Ecological Park in Gangseo-gu, Busan, to celebrate the event and strengthen their mutual friendship.
Na Dongyeon, Chairperson of the Nakdong River Council, stated, "Through this regular meeting, the direction and joint projects for the council in 2026 have been concretized. At the council level, we will explore various ways to utilize the Nakdong River as a key tourism resource. Next year as well, the seven municipalities will work together to ensure the sustainable development and mutual cooperation of the Nakdong River region."
