Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced on November 10 that it has been selected as the contractor for the Moa Town project located at 78 Jung-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Moa Town is a new redevelopment method for low-rise residential areas where traditional redevelopment is difficult, designated as a small-scale housing maintenance management area.
This area was designated as a Moa Town site by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in October 2022 and received management plan approval in April this year. To expedite the project, the city is easing business and construction requirements and providing floor area ratio incentives, as well as supporting administrative procedures. Under this project, six apartment buildings ranging from four basement levels to a maximum of 35 above-ground floors, with a total of 543 units and accompanying welfare facilities, will be constructed. The total construction cost is 19.82 billion won.
The proposed name for the new apartment complex is Mapo Prugio Central Royal. The new apartments are located in a prime area where the Gyeongui-Jungang Line, Airport Railroad, and Seoul Subway Line 6 intersect. The area is well-equipped with daily living infrastructure and is close to parks. All buildings will feature a 100% pilotis structure, ensuring views for lower-floor units. Community facilities for residents will include a fitness club, golf club, and daycare center.
