Dongmyung University, Only Korean University to Receive QS 5 Stars Certification

Dongmyung University (President Lee Sangcheon) has been awarded the QS 5 Stars certification at the 2025 QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific, organized by the global university evaluation agency QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) and held at Korea University.

In this evaluation, Dongmyung University was the only domestic university to receive the 5 Stars certification, demonstrating the distinctiveness of Korean higher education institutions.

Out of the nine total QS evaluation categories, Dongmyung University received the highest rating of 5 Stars in five areas: Teaching, Academic Development, Facilities, Employability, and Social Impact.

President Lee Sangcheon received the official certificate from QS at the awards ceremony held at Korea University on November 6. He stated, "This award marks a decisive turning point for Dongmyung University to become a truly global university."

Additionally, Dongmyung University has achieved remarkable results in international university rankings, including entering the 1401+ band in the 2025 QS World University Rankings and the 901-950 band in the 2025 QS Asia University Rankings.

The university attributed these achievements to its ongoing 'Glocal (Global+Local)' strategy, educational innovation, and expansion of global cooperation policies.

In recent years, Dongmyung University has driven substantial change through various strategic initiatives, including expanding international exchange agreements and joint curricula with overseas universities, strengthening multicultural acceptance, and establishing an industry-academia cooperation-based, employment-centered education model.

President Lee Sangcheon said, "The QS 5 Stars award and our entry into the world and Asia university rankings are clear evidence that Dongmyung University is growing as a global university," adding, "We will do our utmost to become a leading university on the global stage through sustainable internationalization strategies and future-oriented educational innovation."

This QS achievement is being highlighted as an important example of a regionally based university being recognized on the global stage and demonstrating its development potential.
