3% Base Salary Increase, 6 Million Won Incentive, and More
Kumho Tire's labor and management have reached a tentative agreement in this year's wage negotiations. This is seen as a breakthrough amid domestic and international crises, such as the fire at the Gwangju plant and tariffs.
According to Kumho Tire on October 22, labor and management produced a tentative agreement for 2025 during the 14th round of negotiations held on this day.
The main points of the agreement include a 3% increase in base salary, a 6 million won incentive payment, the establishment of practical measures to foster a safety culture, improvements to the wage table structure for new employees, and an expansion of tire coupon benefits.
In particular, safety will be treated as the top priority, with the Industrial Safety and Health Committee set to develop detailed action plans such as inspecting and improving hazardous risk factors and strengthening the safety and health management system.
The tentative agreement will be finalized through an explanatory session for union members, followed by a vote on approval scheduled for October 27-28.
A Kumho Tire representative stated, "It is significant that labor and management reached a consensus on the current management situation and concluded the negotiations without major conflict," adding, "This has laid the foundation for the company to move forward stably amid various crises, including the plant fire and tariffs."
