Procore Championship Kicks Off on PGA Tour
FedEx Cup Rank 94th, Full Status for Next Year in Jeopardy
Eight Missed Cuts in 23 Tournaments This Year, Turnaround Needed
Juhyung Kim is aiming for a turnaround at the Fall Series.
From September 11 (local time), he will compete in the Procore Championship on the PGA Tour, which will be held for four days at the Silverado Resort North Course (par 72, 7,138 yards) in Napa, California, United States. The total prize money for the event is 6 million dollars.
Starting with the Procore Championship, the Fall Series continues with seven tournaments: the Sanderson Farms Championship in October, the Baycurrent Classic, the Utah Bank Championship, the WWT Championship in November, the Bermuda Championship, and the RSM Classic.
As of the final playoff event in August, the Tour Championship, players ranked 71st or lower in the FedEx Cup standings, unless they have other qualifications such as a previous PGA Tour victory, must finish within the top 100 in the FedEx Cup standings by the final Fall Series event, the RSM Classic, in order to retain their PGA Tour status for the 2026 season.
Juhyung Kim has collected three career wins on the PGA Tour and climbed as high as 11th in the world rankings, but this season he has struggled to regain his form. He has played in 23 tournaments this year, with only one top-10 finish. He missed the cut eight times, and his FedEx Cup ranking has dropped to 94th. His full status for next year is now at risk.
Traditionally, Fall Series events are mainly contested by players ranked 51st or lower in the FedEx Cup standings, but this year's Procore Championship features a large number of top-ranked players. Six of the top 10 players, including world number one Scottie Scheffler, Russell Henley, Justin Thomas, J.J. Spaun, and Collin Morikawa (all from the United States), will be competing.
American players have chosen the Procore Championship to prepare for the Ryder Cup, the golf competition against Europe at the end of this month. Of the 12 members of the U.S. national team, only Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau, who plays for LIV Golf, will not be participating in this event.
