Card News Linking Careers and Volunteering
Interactive Quizzes to Boost Youth Engagement
Youth volunteer orientation education instructors held an "instructor research group" and created content designed to increase young people's interest in volunteering.
The Sejong Youth Activity Promotion Center announced on the 26th that the program emphasized how volunteering can be connected to career paths, focusing on professions preferred by young people.
The main outcome of the research group is a series of card news posts that link seven youth-preferred professions-webtoon artist, YouTuber, pet caretaker, chef, AI specialist, professional gamer, and psychological counselor-with related volunteer activities. These card news posts are primarily image-based for easy understanding at a glance and include QR codes that directly connect to volunteer recruitment organizations. A total of seven card news posts will be published biweekly from next month through December.
The center also created a "youth volunteer word quiz" that can be used at youth events, as well as a more entertaining "lottery quiz." These materials will be used at experience booths during youth-related events, such as the club federation festival scheduled for October 18.
An orientation education instructor who participated in the research group said, "I hope this will encourage young people to see volunteering as an opportunity for career exploration and to participate with enthusiasm," adding, "We will continue to actively promote youth-tailored volunteer activities in various spaces where young people gather, in order to encourage their participation."
