Achieving a 92% Distribution Rate
On-Site Support Provided for Vulnerable Groups
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Won-oh), announced on August 6 that it is meticulously providing support to ensure that no residents are left out by operating a 'visiting application service' for the application of the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon.

According to the district, as of August 4, which marks the second week of the coupon application period, the local distribution rate exceeded 92%. In order to address the remaining 8% coverage gap, the district has been operating the 'visiting application service' since August 4.
This service targets vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled who have difficulty visiting community centers or banks due to mobility issues. By calling the community center responsible for their address, residents can receive a one-stop service, from application to coupon distribution, provided directly by a public official or local community leader who visits their home.
In fact, a resident of Haengdang 1-dong who requested the 'visiting application service' and received assistance shared, "It was overwhelming to apply due to my mobility issues, but I am truly grateful that someone came directly to my home to help me with the application."
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s estimate (as of June 18), among the total 266,480 eligible recipients of the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon in Seongdong-gu, approximately 247,000 have completed their applications, which is a significantly higher application rate than expected. The district minimized inconvenience for residents through prompt and systematic response.
In particular, as demand for prepaid cards has increased nationwide, Seongdong-gu took proactive measures to prevent delays in distribution. On July 29 and 30, district officials visited Shinhan Card issuance centers in person to collect the prepaid cards and quickly distributed them to each community center, actively supporting residents.
Additionally, the district has been making efforts to minimize inconvenience for residents by promptly reviewing and processing all 1,206 objections raised due to household adjustments, overseas stays, and other reasons within seven days.
Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure that all residents can benefit from the recovery of livelihoods through thorough, field-oriented support," and added, "We will continue to make various efforts to eliminate welfare blind spots and revitalize the local economy."
