Special Water Leisure Inspections Conducted
Management of 23 High-Risk and Vulnerable Areas

The Mokpo Coast Guard has launched a 'Leisure Safety Management Team' and initiated special safety inspections to prevent water leisure accidents during the peak summer season.
The Mokpo Coast Guard announced on July 30 that it conducted special inspections of local water leisure businesses for one week, from July 23 to July 29.
This inspection targeted five water leisure business sites on the sea surface in nine local areas, including Mokpo and Muan, as well as 23 high-risk and vulnerable sites, and areas where water leisure activities are prohibited.
The main inspection items included: ▲ the management status of slipways at entry and exit points ▲ whether vessels were left unattended without authorization ▲ the condition of prohibition zone notice boards and safety information boards ▲ the safety management system of the businesses.
In particular, new water leisure safety information boards were installed at 11 major entry and exit points, including Mokpo North Port, so that leisure users can easily check and comply with safety rules on site.
An official from the Mokpo Coast Guard stated, "The summer season is a time when the use of water leisure activities surges, and the risk of accidents also increases. Voluntary compliance with safety rules by both leisure industry workers and users is more important than anything else. We will continue to conduct intensive inspections and management activities to create a water leisure environment where the public can enjoy themselves with peace of mind."
