Recruitment of Renewable Energy Expert in Solar and Wind Power
Portfolio Diversification and Expansion of Business Areas
On July 1, BS Hanyang announced that it has established a dedicated organization for renewable energy, the "Renewable Energy Business Group," and appointed Eunjin Yoon, former CEO of Hanwha Solar Power, as its head and vice president.
Vice President Yoon is known for leading domestic and international solar and wind power projects at companies such as LG CNS, KT, Hanwha Q CELLS Korea, and Hanwha Solar Power. He previously served as Head of the Smart Green Business Unit at LG CNS, led the Smart Energy Business Group at KT, oversaw Korean operations at Hanwha Q CELLS Korea, and was CEO of Hanwha Solar Power. Most recently, he gained experience in the offshore wind sector as CEO of Aewol Offshore Wind Power.

In addition to renewable energy such as solar and wind power, BS Hanyang is also engaged in clean energy businesses including LNG and hydrogen. With this appointment, the company plans to strengthen its renewable energy capabilities and diversify its business portfolio. In particular, its strategy is to expand various business models, such as community participation-based development, and to secure full-cycle capabilities from project development to operation.
BS Hanyang has carried out large-scale floating solar power projects, including the "Solar City Solar Power Plant" in Haenam, Jeollanam-do (the largest in Korea on a single-site basis), as well as Haechangman (98MW) and Goheungman (63MW). Building on this foundation, the company is also actively pursuing the development of AI data centers and RE100 (100% renewable energy) industrial complexes.
Solar City was selected in May as the final candidate site for a distributed energy specialized region by Jeollanam-do. BS Hanyang plans to further develop solar power complexes utilizing nearby reclaimed land, supply RE100 electricity to tenant companies, and promote a "Sunlight Pension" project for local residents.
A BS Hanyang representative stated, "Based on Vice President Yoon's extensive experience and network, we will enhance our competitiveness in the renewable energy sector and grow into a comprehensive energy company."
