Quickly Reflecting the People's Voice in State Affairs
"President Lee's Political Philosophy in Action"
On June 24, the Office of the President announced that it will operate the "People's Mailbox: A Government of Sovereignty Built Together with the People" initiative in order to incorporate public opinion into state affairs.
The People's Mailbox will collect questions from the public through a Google Form, covering all areas of interest?including the economy, livelihoods, society, politics, and foreign affairs and security. All submitted questions will be reported to President Lee Jaemyung. Among these, President Lee will personally respond to those questions that have a high level of social consensus or are particularly timely.
The Office of the President stated, "The launch of the People's Mailbox reflects President Lee Jaemyung's strong commitment to communication with the public," adding, "It embodies the President's philosophy of listening to the people's voices and acting swiftly." The office further commented, "We will continue to expand communication channels so that the public remains at the center of all policy decisions and will strive to create changes that people can truly feel."
Meanwhile, during his tenure as leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, President Lee also operated an online communication platform called "Questions for Everyone Q" to gather public opinion.
