LG Uplus is launching a digital literacy education program for parents with Alpha generation children born after 2010.

On June 15, LG Uplus announced that it has signed a business agreement with the National Information Society Agency (NIA) and Emart to operate an educational program on digital parenting methods for parents of the Alpha generation.

This program has been prepared for parents who are concerned about how to guide their Alpha generation children, who are digital natives. UNESCO defines digital literacy as "the ability to safely and appropriately search for and manage information using digital technologies, as well as to utilize them for communication, evaluation, and creative activities."

An LG Uplus representative stated, "As an AX (AI Transformation) company, we have planned this program to fulfill our social responsibilities," and added, "We will provide a customized curriculum that reflects the practical needs of Alpha generation parents."

The three organizations will divide roles based on their respective areas of expertise. LG Uplus will handle customer demand analysis and overall program management. NIA will conduct lectures based on its experience operating digital learning centers nationwide. Emart will provide cultural center spaces that are easily accessible to Alpha generation parents, maximizing the effectiveness of the program.

The curriculum is largely divided into two parts. First, there will be theoretical lectures covering the characteristics of the Alpha generation, assessment of parents' digital guidance capabilities, and AI-based parenting methods. This will be followed by practical sessions where parents and children can create storybooks using AI or learn proper methods for using digital content together.

The program is intended for parents with children aged four to lower elementary school grades, and will be held at 10 Emart cultural centers in the Seoul metropolitan area until the end of August. The lectures will be conducted by a team of expert instructors selected by NIA.
