Starbucks Introduces Cocktails at 12 Locations Nationwide
May Cocktail Sales Up 80% Compared to Previous Month
Starbucks Korea announced on June 12 that its limited-edition Starbucks cocktails, available at only 12 stores nationwide, saw an 80% increase in sales in May compared to the previous month, thanks to an enthusiastic response from customers.
Recently, Starbucks extended the operating hours of approximately 80% of its stores nationwide to 10 p.m. and introduced cocktail beverages at a total of 12 locations (Yeongrangho Resort, Gwanggyo SK View Lake 41F, Seongsu Station, Millak The Market, K Square Gangnam, Gwangju Siridangil, Yeouido TP Tower, Ttukseom Station Intersection, Sinsa Station Seongil Building, Gwangju Pungam Lake Park, Jangchung Lounge R, Reserve Dosan) for customers to enjoy in the evening hours.
In particular, three types of cocktails made in collaboration with the global rum brand Bacardi, using 'Bacardi Rum Carta Blanca,' are available at 10 stores excluding Reserve locations: Purple Mango Dragon Fruit Pi?a Colada, Pink Grapefruit Rum Tonic, and Passion Tea Cosmopolitan. In addition, at Reserve Dosan and Jangchung Lounge R, customers can enjoy a variety of exclusive cocktails, including White Moscato Sangria, Strawberry Lemon Vodka Blended, and Citrus Cold Brew Martini.
The most popular beverage among customers was the 'Purple Mango Dragon Fruit Pi?a Colada,' characterized by the exotic combination of mango, dragon fruit, and Bacardi white rum, complemented by the refreshing taste of pineapple. The 'Pink Grapefruit Rum Tonic,' inspired by the popular Pink Grapefruit Phygiot, offers a sweet and slightly bitter blend of grapefruit and Bacardi white rum, and was the next most popular choice.
The popularity of the cocktail beverages is also evident in the sales trends by day of the week. Saturday recorded the highest cocktail sales, with sales approximately 50% higher than on weekdays. This was followed by Sunday and Friday, indicating that many customers enjoy a leisurely cocktail at Starbucks stores over the weekend.
Considering the extension of store operating hours and the increasing demand for cocktails during the summer season, Starbucks plans to expand cocktail sales at stores with various concepts to provide customers with a unique Starbucks experience.
