Children's Literature, Poetry, and Fiction Categories
Submissions Accepted Until August 26
Jeollanam-do is accepting submissions for the 2nd Yeosu·Suncheon 10·19 Peace Literature Award until August 26, in an effort to heal the pain of the Yeosu·Suncheon 10·19 Incident through literature and to raise awareness of the historical truth.
This year, unlike last year, a children's literature category (children's poems and stories) has been newly established, expanding the competition to a total of three categories, including poetry and fiction.
The competition is organized by the Jeonnam Cultural Foundation. Eligible works are unpublished, original literary creations that reflect the values of truth, peace, human rights, reconciliation, and coexistence, set against the backdrop of the Yeosu·Suncheon Incident. There are no restrictions regarding region or age.
For poetry, participants must submit five poems. For fiction, submissions should be medium or short stories between 80 and 200 manuscript pages (200 characters per page). For children's literature, participants may submit between five and ten children's poems or a children's story of approximately 30 manuscript pages.
In the poetry category, the grand prize winner will receive 10 million KRW, and two excellence award winners will each receive 5 million KRW. In the fiction category, the grand prize winner will receive 20 million KRW, and two excellence award winners will each receive 5 million KRW.
In the children's literature category, the grand prize winner will receive 10 million KRW, and two excellence award winners will each receive 5 million KRW. The winning works will be published in an anthology.
Entries must be received by 6:00 p.m. on August 26. Manuscripts should be submitted in HWP (Hangul Word Processor) file format via email.
