Mutual Cooperation for Establishing Origin Labeling in Traditional Markets

Five Organizations Including Hongseong Agricultural Quality Office Sign Agreement to Promote Origin Labeling The Hongseong Office of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, Hongseong County, the Hongseong Traditional Market Merchants Association, and three other organizations signed a business agreement to promote origin labeling in traditional markets.

The Hongseong Office of the Chungnam Branch of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service has signed a "Business Agreement to Promote Origin Labeling in Traditional Markets" with five public and private organizations.


The five organizations and groups?the Hongseong Office of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, Hongseong County, the Hongseong Traditional Market Merchants Association, the Hongseong County Branch of the Korea Consumer Education Central Association, and the Hongseong Branch of the Korea Women Consumers Federation?recently held a signing ceremony at the Hongseong Traditional Market Merchants Association Training Center. They agreed to mutually cooperate in order to establish proper origin labeling practices in traditional markets through this business agreement to promote origin labeling.


This agreement was concluded to provide accurate origin information to consumers using traditional markets and to encourage voluntary compliance with origin labeling among merchants. The aim is to establish a fair distribution order and enhance consumer trust.


With the signing of this agreement, the five organizations and groups plan to cooperate in various areas, including origin labeling education and promotion for traditional market merchants, consumer campaigns and guidance activities, and establishing a cooperative system during joint inspections. Their goal is to promote voluntary compliance with origin labeling and to establish order in distribution.


Shin Hyeongjung, head of the Hongseong Office of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, stated, "This agreement must go beyond formality and lead to practical cooperation," and added, "We will continue to do our best to create a distribution environment where both consumers and merchants can trust each other."


Cho Gwanghee, Deputy Governor of Hongseong County, said, "I hope this business agreement will help traditional markets develop into places where consumers can shop with confidence," and added, "The county will spare no effort in providing various forms of support to revitalize the local economy."
