Pukyong National University (President Bae Sanghoon) held the 'White Shirt Brown Bag Meeting' event on May 14 at the Dongwon Jangbo Hall. Together with key institutional leaders from the Busan area, the university hosted an open discussion on the topic 'Talking about Busan,' sharing visions and strategies for the city's development.

This event was organized as an open forum for candid discussions on Busan's development. Fifteen representatives from government, research institutions, businesses, and financial organizations?including officials from the Busan Metropolitan Government, research institutes, companies, and financial institutions?participated in wide-ranging discussions on current issues facing Busan, promising industries, regional strengths and weaknesses, and future strategies.

Attendees included Bae Sanghoon, President of Pukyong National University; Sung Hee-yeop, Senior Policy Advisor to the Busan Metropolitan Government; Lee Kangbok, Director of Education Reform Support; Seo Jongwoo, Policy Planning Advisor; Kim Jongdeok, President of the Korea Fisheries Resources Agency; Lee Heeseung, President of the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology; Bae Jeongcheol, President of the Korea Research Institute of Ship and Ocean Engineering; Cho Jeonghee, President of the Korea Maritime Institute; Chae Jaeik, CEO of Interocean; Park Yongjun, CEO of Samjin Foods; Kim Minsu, CEO of Gijang Mulsan; Kim Hyeonggyun, President of Busan Technopark; Lee Hannyung, Head of the Busan Branch of the Bank of Korea; Lim Jeonghwan, Director of the Financial Supervisory Service; and Seo Jongun, President of the Busan Technology Startup Investment Institute, as well as other key regional leaders.

Bae Sanghoon, President of Pukyong National University, stated, "It is very meaningful to gather early in the morning with those who are at the heart of Busan's progress and to contemplate the city's future together. I hope that the valuable ideas shared here will be reflected in each institution's policies and actions, leading to tangible benefits for Busan's development."

Pukyong National University plans to use this event as a starting point to host regular monthly forums for communication and cooperation toward regional coexistence and collaboration.
