Silla University (President Heo Namsik) has been selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' "2025 Korean Traditional Liquor Expert Training Program" support project.
Silla University has been designated as a "Traditional Liquor Professional Training Institution" by the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service and has been operating an annual expert training program for 13 years, aiming to cultivate talent tailored to the Korean liquor industry.
This year as well, the university has been selected for the "Korean Traditional Liquor Expert Training Program" support project funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and will undertake the successful training of experts. The program is scheduled to run for a total of 150 hours from May 17 to October 31, covering topics such as: △Basic understanding of traditional liquor △Manufacturing and quality control △Product development and distribution marketing △Relevant laws and management practices △Current status and research trends in the liquor industry.
In particular, the university has prepared a variety of hands-on programs expected to achieve high participant satisfaction, including △Expert consulting for start-up preparation △Idea product evaluation sessions △Participation in the development of new products with liquor companies, all of which have received enthusiastic responses from trainees every year.
Anyone residing in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions who is interested in traditional liquor can participate, and further details can be found on the Silla University website.
Son Jaehak, a professor in the Department of Food and Culinary Science at Silla University and the faculty member in charge of the "Korean Traditional Liquor Expert Training Program," stated, "With growing interest in the traditional liquor industry, many citizens participate in the training every year to learn traditional liquor manufacturing techniques and product development." He added, "We will focus our efforts on enhancing the expertise of quality management technology and cultivating related experts so that our traditional liquor can become a globally competitive brand."
