Gyeonggi Economic Agency to Hold On-site Investment Briefing for Japanese Investors on the 17th

On the 17th, the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority hosted an 'On-site Investment Briefing for Foreign Investment Companies' by inviting representatives of Japanese foreign-invested companies to the Pyeongtaek Poseung and Hyeondeok districts.


The briefing was organized to introduce the investment environment of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Pyeongtaek area (Poseung BIX, Hyeondeok) to key members of 'Seoul Japan Club (SJC)', the largest Japanese corporate community in Korea, and to share the future vision and investment opportunities of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone.


Founded in 1997, Seoul Japan Club (SJC) has over 350 Japanese corporate members and is a representative foreign business organization with companies active in various sectors such as trading, finance, transportation, electronics, and machinery.

The event was attended by a total of 15 people, including SJC Chairman Tetsuya Matsuura, heads of Korean branches of major member companies such as Toray Advanced Materials, representatives from Kim & Chang Law Firm, and officials from Japanese financial institutions.


The attendees received explanations from the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority about the development status and investment conditions of the free economic zone, engaged in open Q&A sessions, and discussed cooperation measures.


Afterwards, they visited the Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) district and Hyeondeok district sites to inspect key development locations and assess the investment environment.


Choi Won-yong, head of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority, stated, "This on-site briefing was a meaningful opportunity for Japanese global companies to directly confirm the growth potential and investment attractiveness of the Pyeongtaek area and the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone, and to explore possibilities as a new investment destination. We will continue to expand communication with foreign-invested companies and actively promote customized investment attraction activities for businesses."
