22nd Seogyeongho Missing Person Found After 67 Days Divers deployed for the search operation. Provided by Jeonnam Province

An additional missing person has been found from the Je22 Seogyeongho, which sank off the coast of Yeosu, Jeollanam-do.


According to Jeollanam-do authorities on the 16th, a missing person was found at 11:42 a.m. that day in the wheelhouse of the Seogyeongho, which had sunk to the seabed at a depth of 82.8 meters near the accident site off Habaekdo, Samsan-myeon, Yeosu. This is the first additional discovery in 67 days since the fifth missing person was found following the initial search and rescue operations by the Coast Guard right after the accident.


It is reported that the missing person was discovered by two civilian divers who were searching inside the hull that day.


Meanwhile, the Je22 Seogyeongho sank at around 1:41 a.m. on February 9th, approximately 17 km east of Habaekdo, Samsan-myeon, Yeosu, Jeollanam-do. Of the 14 people on board at the time, 5 died and 5 went missing as a result of the accident.
