The main goal is to ensure the stable implementation of the 'Pilot Project for Expanding On-site Internship Opportunities Linked to Employment within the Changwon National Industrial Complex,' organized by the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, and to create results through mutual cooperation.

Through this agreement, Kyungnam University will actively foster industry-ready talent by providing various forms of industry-academia cooperation to the operating body, the Digital Advanced Manufacturing Convergence Council. In turn, the council will conduct employment-linked on-site internships for outstanding students from Kyungnam University, aiming to produce various achievements, nurture regional talent, and strengthen joint technology and R&D initiatives.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ko Hoseok, Vice President for External Affairs; Park Taehyun, Head of the KU_IPP Project Group (Director of Talent Development); Park Byungkyu, Head of the Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation; Kim Dangju, Chairman of the Digital Advanced Manufacturing Convergence Council; and 15 other related personnel. The event also included an introduction to the pilot project and a progress report.

So far, Kyungnam University has nurtured 865 outstanding talents for 439 companies through the IPP-type Work-Study Dual System since 2017. Notably, it is the only university in the southeastern region operating a pilot project for a specialized work-study university this year, demonstrating innovative capacity to produce the talent demanded by companies. The university operates various programs that link learning and employment for students.

In his welcoming remarks, Ko Hoseok, Vice President for External Affairs, said, "This business agreement between our university and companies within the Korea Industrial Complex goes beyond a simple document. It will open a new chapter for regional industrial development and talent cultivation." He added, "Each institution also pledged to cooperate in the future RISE project operated by Kyungnam University, taking the lead in supporting companies in the Changwon National Industrial Complex and revitalizing the local economy."

He continued, "We will fulfill our mission as a university that grows together with the local community through continuous communication and cooperation."
