Statement to Be Announced Without Taking Questions from Reporters
Actor Kim Soo-hyun breaks his silence about the allegations that he dated the late Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor, more than 20 days after the rumors surfaced.
His agency, Gold Medalist, will hold a press conference at 4:30 PM on the 31st at the Stanford Hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, where Kim Soo-hyun will appear with the agency’s legal representative.
The agency stated, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern due to recent events," and added, "There will be a statement from our legal representative, the law firm LKB & Partners, and from Kim Soo-hyun."
However, no separate Q&A session will be held. It is expected that Kim Soo-hyun will read a prepared statement and then conclude the press conference.
On the 10th, the family of Kim Sae-ron claimed through a YouTube channel A that the late actress had been in a romantic relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun since 2016, when she was still a minor. Kim Soo-hyun’s agency initially denied the allegations as false, but as the revelations continued, they changed their position, stating that the relationship occurred for one year after she became an adult.
The agency filed a complaint against YouTube channel A for violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (distribution of filmed materials using cameras, etc.) and for charges of intimidation.
In response, Kim Sae-ron’s family and YouTube channel A released additional past mobile phone messages exchanged between the two to refute the claims. Additionally, controversy arose regarding Kim Soo-hyun’s involvement in the film "Real," which starred the late Sulli.
