The Jeonnam Boxing Association announced on the 29th that it held an inauguration and retirement ceremony. At this event, the 2nd president Yoo Seongsu stepped down, and the 3rd president Joo Donghyun (CEO of DH Construction) took office.

The ceremony, held at Dahyang Gymnasium in Boseong-gun in the afternoon, was attended by Kim Daejung, Superintendent of Jeonnam Office of Education; Moon Geumjoo, National Assembly member; Song Jinho, President of Jeonnam Sports Council; Choi Chanwoong, President of the Korea Boxing Association; Lee Gwangsu, President of Boseong Sports Council; actor Lee Jungyong; actor Lee Jongwon; and actor Yoo Taeung, among others.

This event was held after the '54th National Youth Sports Festival Jeonnam Representative Selection,' the '106th National Sports Festival Jeonnam 1st Representative Selection,' and the '8th Jeonnam Sports for All Boxing Tournament,' all conducted in two official rings. The event allowed spectators to enjoy both elite boxing matches for selecting student athletes representing Jeonnam and amateur boxing matches for boxing enthusiasts at the same time.

Choi Chanwoong, President of the Korea Boxing Association, presented a plaque of appreciation to former Jeonnam Boxing Association President Yoo Seongsu. Song Jinho, President of the Jeonnam Sports Council, awarded plaques of appreciation to Lim Yeongdo and Lee Myeonggyu, who served for many years as executive director and secretary general of the Jeonnam Boxing Association.

Moon Geumjoo, National Assembly member, said, "I am confident that the outstanding leadership and deep affection for boxing of the new president will lead Jeonnam boxing to a new leap forward. The remarkable capabilities recently shown by Jeonnam boxing athletes in various competitions offer a glimpse into the bright future of young boxing. This is valuable evidence created by the blood and sweat of the athletes and the tireless efforts and dedication of the coaches and association officials."

Joo Donghyun, the new 3rd president of the Jeonnam Boxing Association, said, "During my tenure as president, I will restore the reputation of Jeonnam boxing based on the unity and cooperation of the boxing community. The continuous discovery of talented athletes has enabled the sustainable growth of Jeonnam boxing. I hope everyone will join forces so that boxing can be loved by more people and establish itself as a healthy sport."
