Request for District Designation within the First Half of the Year during LH Visit
Proposals for Technovalley and Integrated Sewage Treatment Plant Construction Also Submitted
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province has requested the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), the project implementer, to expedite the designation of the Segyo 3 Public Housing District.

During the meeting, Mayor Lee said, "The swift designation of the Segyo 3 District will serve as a catalyst for Osan City's era of self-sufficiency with a population of 500,000," adding, "The district designation is crucial for the establishment of the Advanced Technovalley and the early construction of the integrated sewage treatment plant."
The Segyo 3 District was announced by the government in November 2023 as a candidate site for public housing districts to expand new housing supply. The district covers an area of 4.4 million square meters, with a total of 31,000 housing units planned to be supplied.
To accelerate the project procedures, the city has conducted the basic process of 'Urban Concept Advisory Meetings (UCP)' seven times for the district designation and plans to hold the final meeting in early April. Mayor Lee requested, "Since the related procedures are in the final stages, please ensure that the district designation is completed within the first half of the year."
Mayor Lee also proposed to LH that the land use plan actively reflect the creation of a Technovalley spanning 300,000 pyeong within the Segyo 3 District. Additionally, the city added that LH was asked to expedite the construction of the integrated sewage treatment plant to secure sewage treatment facilities in response to the rapid population increase.
A city official stated, "The Segyo 3 District is a core task of the 8th elected administration and a long-cherished project of the citizens," and added, "We will continue to actively cooperate at the working level to ensure the district designation is carried out swiftly."
