Seoul National University Hospital announced on the 25th that it ranked first in the general hospital category in the '2025 Korea Industry Brand Power Index (K-BPI)' survey conducted by the Korea Management Association Consulting (KMAC).
The K-BPI survey was conducted through one-on-one individual interviews with 12,800 consumers residing in Seoul and six major metropolitan cities. Seoul National University Hospital maintained its status as the number one hospital for 25 consecutive years by achieving outstanding results in key evaluation categories such as awareness, image, accessibility, and preference.
Seoul National University Hospital has led healthcare in South Korea for 140 years since its inception as Jejungwon in 1885. Since its reorganization as a special corporation in 1978, Seoul National University Hospital has served as the national central hospital, acting as the final treatment center for severe, rare, and intractable diseases and as a control tower for essential medical services. It has continuously driven medical innovation through world-class research and the development of advanced medical technologies.
Recently, Seoul National University Hospital has been leading advanced bio and digital health research and development through global collaboration. Notably, designated as the first 'National Strategic Technology Specialized Research Institute,' the hospital has established a global data platform and collaborated with world-renowned institutions such as Harvard-MIT to create a global-level research environment. Through this, Seoul National University Hospital is advancing as a world-class research-oriented hospital. Additionally, it has established the 'Healthcare AI Institute' to focus on training next-generation medical AI experts and developing innovative technologies, and it has set a significant milestone in AI-based medical innovation by developing Korea’s first 'Korean-style medical large language model.'
Seoul National University Hospital also provides world-class medical services in the fields of severe diseases and essential medical care. Through the 'Nexsu Children’s Integrated Care Center,' which celebrated its first anniversary last year, it has provided a space for rest and emotional support to over 200 patients and their families. Furthermore, as a regional responsibility medical institution and central cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease center, it has strengthened information sharing and support to enhance regionally complete essential medical care and plays a crucial role on the front lines of treating critically ill patients.
Seoul National University Hospital is also leading the Korean Wave in healthcare by gaining recognition for its excellent medical technology overseas. It has extended the contract for entrusted operation of UAE SKSH and is expanding its influence in the global market through the Abu Dhabi General Hospital establishment project.
