Heavy Wet Snow Forecast for Many Regions

On Sunday the 16th, the whole country will be mostly cloudy with rain or snow. The snow and rain are expected to bring a late cold snap.

Snow and rain starting from dawn in the metropolitan area and inland Gangwon will spread nationwide by the afternoon. The metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, and Gyeongbuk region will see a lull from the afternoon, and the Gyeongnam region will gradually stop from night.

Expected snowfall until the 17th is 3?8 cm in eastern Gyeonggi, about 1 cm in Seoul, northwestern Gyeonggi, and southwestern inland Gyeonggi. Mountainous areas of Gangwon and northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk will see 10?20 cm, southern inland Gangwon 5?15 cm, central and northern inland Gangwon and Gangwon East Coast 3?8 cm, and Daegu, southern Gyeongbuk, Ulsan, and eastern inland Gyeongnam 1?5 cm of snow accumulation.

In particular, heavy and wet snow will accumulate significantly around eastern Gyeonggi, Gangwon-do, northern Chungbuk, and northern Gyeongbuk. Caution is advised for falling branches and debris.

Expected precipitation during the same period is 5?10 mm in eastern Gyeonggi, Chungbuk, Daegu, southern inland Gyeongbuk, Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, and about 5 mm in Seoul, Incheon, western Gyeonggi, the five western islands, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.

Morning low temperatures are expected to be between 1 and 6 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs between 5 and 11 degrees Celsius. Cold winds will blow from the afternoon, causing Monday morning temperatures in Seoul to drop below freezing.

Fine dust levels will be 'Good' across all regions.
