Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi Pad 7 Set for Release
First Launch of Xiaomi's Top-Tier Flagship Smartphone in Korea
Features Leica Camera Technology and Snapdragon 8 Elite
Sales Begin on the 25th; Domestic Price Yet to Be Announced
Xiaomi Korea announced on the 14th that it will launch the 'Xiaomi 15 Ultra,' the top-tier lineup among the latest flagship smartphones, and the tablet PC 'Xiaomi Pad 7' in the domestic market. This is the first time Xiaomi is officially selling its highest-end smartphone in the Korean market.
Both products are scheduled for official release on the 25th through major online channels such as the Xiaomi Korea online store, Coupang, and Naver Store.
Earlier this year, Xiaomi officially entered the domestic market by establishing its Korean subsidiary, 'Xiaomi Korea,' and has so far focused on releasing mid-range smartphones emphasizing cost-effectiveness (performance relative to price). On the 10th of this month, it introduced the 'Poco X7 Pro,' a smartphone priced around 400,000 KRW under its sub-brand 'Poco,' and last year, it launched the 'Redmi 14C,' a smartphone priced around 100,000 KRW, in Korea.
On the 2nd of this month (local time), Xiaomi unveiled the 'Xiaomi 15 Series' at a new product launch event held in Barcelona, Spain. Among them, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra won the 'Best of Show' award at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a camera-inspired exterior design. Xiaomi explained that this design was applied to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Leica's camera 'Leica 1,' which was released in 1925.
Reflecting its camera-shaped exterior, Xiaomi emphasized enhanced camera performance. The main camera is equipped with Leica Summilux optical lenses and an 8P aspherical high-transmittance lens, supporting 14?200mm optical zoom. It offers a 70mm Leica floating telephoto camera optimized for portrait and street photography and supports macro shooting using a large sensor. Additionally, it can capture clear images even in very dark environments like nighttime through 14EV high dynamic range.
The smartphone’s brain, the application processor (AP), is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile. Storage options include 512GB or 1TB with UFS 4.1 technology, and it comes with 16GB of RAM. The display is a 6.73-inch WQHD+ AMOLED panel providing up to 3200 nits of brightness. The resolution is 3200x1440, with a pixel density of 522ppi.
AI features are also integrated. Xiaomi HyperOS 2, an Android-based operating system, is combined with Google’s AI service Gemini and Xiaomi’s own AI, HyperAI. It supports AI live wallpapers, AI image upscaling, AI image enhancement, AI live translation, and AI search, among others.
The weight ranges from 226 to 229 grams depending on the color, and it will be available in three colors: Black, White, and Silver Chrome.
The key factor is expected to be the price. At the launch event held earlier this month, Xiaomi set the global launch price of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra at 1,499 euros (approximately 2.28 million KRW for the 512GB model). Xiaomi plans to announce the domestic price on the release date, the 25th, but considering the exchange rate, it is likely to be priced above 2 million KRW.
Meanwhile, the tablet PC 'Xiaomi Pad 7,' released together, is equipped with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 AP. It weighs 500g and has a thickness of 6.18mm. The 11-inch display features a 3.2K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and 800 nits brightness. It also supports AI functions such as text generation, image editing, and real-time meeting information extraction through Xiaomi HyperAI. It is compatible with accessories like a floating keyboard, magnetic keyboard, and Focus Pen. The battery capacity is 8,850mAh, supporting 45W fast charging.
Both products launching domestically this time come with Xiaomi’s newly unveiled operating system, HyperOS 2. Based on Android, Xiaomi HyperOS 2 focuses on overall performance improvements. It applies advanced encryption algorithms to transmitted data to reduce the risk of data leakage. In particular, to protect personal information, it adopts a method of storing all user data separately on servers in Singapore and Europe.
A Xiaomi Korea official said, "The launch of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi Pad 7 is part of our efforts to meet the diverse needs of Korean consumers. Especially, the 15 Ultra model being released this time is a flagship model that embodies Xiaomi’s technological prowess and will provide Korean consumers who want the best performance for the price with a new choice."
