Kwon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, said on the 8th that President Yoon Seok-yeol's release was "a belated but absolutely rightful release after 52 days of illegal detention by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO)."

On the same day, Kwon issued a statement following President Yoon's release, expressing this view.

He warned, "It took more than 24 hours from the court's decision to cancel the detention to the actual release, which was an abuse of authority and illegal confinement by the Special Investigation Headquarters of the prosecution," adding, "We will definitely hold accountable those responsible for the already committed illegal acts."

This stance indicates that legal responsibility will be pursued against the Special Investigation Headquarters, which defied not only the court's ruling but also the Prosecutor General's orders by illegally detaining the president.

Kwon also addressed Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung, saying, "I hope that, in consultation with the Ministry of Justice, appropriate measures will be taken to restore discipline within the prosecution organization."
