Dong-A University Holds 'Best and Excellent Lecture Professors Award Ceremony'

Six Professors Receive Best Lecture Awards,
Seven Professors Honored for Excellence in 2024

The Best Lecture Professors for the 2024 academic year were selected as Professors Lee Jin-gyu (Department of Global Business), Park Young-il (Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering), Jeon Su-min (Department of Information Mathematics), Jo Hang-sil (College of Liberal Arts), Lee Yang-min (Department of Computer Engineering), and Kim Min-jin (Department of Korean Language and Literature), who received certificates and prize money.

The Excellent Lecture Professors were Professors Lee Joo-hyun (Major in History), Jeon Hyung-pil (Department of Physical Education), Lee Na-yoon (Department of Nursing), Jin Byung-rae (Department of Applied Biological Engineering), Keith Ashericher (College of Liberal Arts), Yang Won-tae (Department of Smart Green Resources), and Go Ah-ra (Department of Education).

Dong-A University annually selects the Best and Excellent Lecture Professors by comprehensively considering lecture evaluation results, syllabi, course portfolios, and award histories for full-time faculty, dedicated full-time faculty, and part-time faculty (including lecturers) by category.

Eligible faculty members are those who have taught at least one undergraduate course per semester in the relevant year and at least four courses over two semesters. Courses with fewer than 20 students participating in lecture evaluations and laboratory/practical courses are excluded from the evaluation (for arts and physical education fields, experiments, practice, and skills are included).

Lectures by the Best Lecture Professors are recorded on video and used as materials for improving teaching methods, and workshops for sharing lecture know-how are also held.

Professor Jeon Su-min, selected as the Best Lecture Professor, said, “I feel great fulfillment when students realize that they can apply mathematical concepts to solve real-life problems,” adding, “I will continue to strive to provide lectures that are helpful to students.”
