On the 13th at 10 a.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the ’2025 Nowon Ddokddokddok Care Team Launch Ceremony‘ held at the Nowon-gu Office Small Auditorium.
The Nowon Ddokddokddok Care Team is a representative resident-led care service where neighbors take care of neighbors. It continuously checks on socially isolated households and strives to establish a dense welfare delivery system unique to Nowon by discovering welfare blind spots and linking services.
This year, the district selected 6,414 households in need of care, including elderly, disabled, single-parent, and middle-aged single-person households. To prevent overlapping benefits and build a dense safety net without welfare blind spots, households that do not use other care services were selected.
This year, a total of 220 care team members, consisting of 4 to 18 people per neighborhood, are expected to be active.
The event was attended by about 220 people, including Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, city and district council members, and officials, and proceeded in the order of ▲Opening and national anthem ▲Introduction of guests ▲Report on the progress of the Nowon Ddokddokddok Care Team ▲Greetings ▲Presentation of appointment letters ▲Pledge of activity rules ▲Commemorative photo.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, “Beyond simple support, the process of checking on neighbors weekly and meeting face-to-face is the greatest form of care,” adding, “We will do our best to establish a field-centered, dense welfare safety net so that not a single neighbor in need of help is overlooked.”
