Shinhan Asset Management announced on the 7th that the net purchase amount by individual investors in the 'SOL US AI Software ETF' has exceeded 100 billion KRW just seven months after its listing. Since the announcement of the 'Stargate Project' on the 21st of last month, individual investors have concentrated their purchases by about 10 billion KRW over seven trading days, pushing the net assets to around 200 billion KRW.
The SOL US AI Software ETF is the only domestic ETF that allows focused investment in US artificial intelligence (AI) software companies. The 'Stargate Project' is a plan by OpenAI, Oracle, SoftBank, and others to invest up to 500 billion USD (approximately 700 trillion KRW) to build large-scale AI infrastructure across the United States.
Kim Jeong-hyun, Head of the ETF Business Division at Shinhan Asset Management, introduced, "Important events surrounding AI software companies have occurred, such as the Stargate Project centered on OpenAI and Oracle, and Palantir's strong earnings announcement." He added, "Interest from individual investors in the SOL US AI Software ETF, the only domestic product that allows focused investment in AI software companies, is significantly increasing."
Supported by the rising trends of major holdings such as Salesforce, Oracle, and Palantir, the SOL US AI Software ETF has consistently recorded favorable performance since its listing. The recent 1-month, 3-month, and 6-month returns are 4.62%, 19.12%, and 44.25%, respectively.
Kim emphasized, "The AI theme is expected to lead the market this year as well," adding, "It is necessary to pay attention to cost reductions in the AI industry and the resulting demand creation, as well as the expansion of scale and profitability improvements of AI software companies."
The SOL US AI Software ETF is a product suitable for responding to changes in the AI industry's cycle with a differentiated portfolio mainly composed of leading companies in each AI software sector. Major components include ▲Salesforce (9.59%) ▲Microsoft (9.11%) ▲Palantir (8.92%) ▲Oracle (8.33%) ▲ServiceNow (7.30%) ▲AppLovin (5.21%).
Shinhan Asset Management operates the SOL US AI Semiconductor Chip Maker and SOL US AI Power Infrastructure ETFs alongside the SOL US AI Software ETF. The total assets under management amount to approximately 400 billion KRW.
