For Vulnerable Groups Including Basic Livelihood Security Recipients and Near-Poverty Class
Up to 600,000 KRW Per Household... Total of 77 Households on a First-Come, First-Served Basis
Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 2nd that it will begin accepting applications for subsidies for the installation of ‘eco-friendly boilers for households’ starting from the 3rd.
‘Eco-friendly boilers’ use a condensing method that absorbs and recycles the high-temperature heat released through exhaust gases, significantly reducing air pollutants.
Additionally, these gas boilers, certified with high energy efficiency environmental labels, are known to help reduce fine dust as well as heating costs.
The support targets low-income and vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class, recipients of disability (child) allowances, single-parent families, and multi-child families (two or more children) with household income below 100% of the median income. The subsidy amount is up to 600,000 KRW per household and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis to a total of 77 households.
In particular, starting this year, benefits are also available for replacing existing wood fuel, briquette, or oil boilers with certified LPG boilers in areas not supplied with city gas (LNG).
Applications can be submitted online through the Eco Square website or by visiting the Climate Energy Division of Yangju City Hall with the required documents, including the subsidy payment request form. Detailed information can be found on the city’s website.
A Yangju City official stated, “The eco-friendly boiler installation support project plays an important role in environmental protection and also greatly helps reduce heating costs. We will do our best to ensure that citizens receive many benefits.”
