Applications accepted from February 3 to 21
Support of up to 5 to 10 million KRW per group
Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 31st that it will accept applications for the 'Resident Participation Urban Regeneration Contest Project' for three weeks starting February 3rd, aiming to revitalize the local community through active participation of residents.
The urban regeneration contest project aims for residents to proactively solve village problems and create a sustainable urban regeneration foundation. Ideas proposed by residents are selected through internal review and deliberation, and budgets are supported for the selected projects.
The total project budget is 35 million KRW, which is more than a 75% increase compared to the previous year due to the selection of the '2024 Gyeonggi The Dream Regeneration Project,' and each selected project will receive support ranging from 5 million to 10 million KRW.
This year, in addition to the existing general projects, a new category has been added to focus on proposals limited to the Inchang Stream Urban Regeneration Revitalization Area to induce the revitalization of the deteriorated old downtown area. Projects selected in this category will be exempt from self-funding and can receive up to 10 million KRW in project funds (limited to commercial district revitalization type).
The contest categories include △ Community Activation △ Local Resource Survey △ Commercial District Revitalization △ Small-scale Environmental Improvement and Maintenance. Any group or organization consisting of five or more residents who live or have their living area (workplace or school) in Guri City can apply.
Detailed information can be found on the Guri City Hall website's public notices or the Guri City Urban Regeneration Support Center website. For other inquiries, contact the Guri City Urban Regeneration Support Center.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City said, “We expect dynamic growth throughout Guri City and the Inchang Stream area through this urban regeneration resident contest project,” and added, “We hope for active participation from many residents so that local residents can lead the change in our city and experience joyful transformation.”
