KG Mobility (hereinafter KGM) announced on the 24th that it has launched a new integrated pickup brand 'Musso (MUSSO)' and confirmed the name of the first model in the lineup as 'Musso EV (project name O100)'.
KGM expressed its ambition to make the pickup brand 'Musso' a rational and practical brand while maintaining the authenticity of pickups.
Musso was born by inheriting the SUV Musso brand launched in 1993. It is a new pickup brand that continues the heritage of Korea's first SUT (Sports Utility Truck), the 'Musso Sports'. The brand name Musso is a reinforced pronunciation of the pure Korean word for rhinoceros, 'Muso', symbolizing strong power, grandeur, and confidence.
KGM's first pickup model, the 'Musso Sports (2002?2005)', introduced the concept of SUT by adding a new open style to the proven performance of the Musso SUV. SUT is a vehicle that combines the practicality of an SUV with the cargo capacity of a pickup. It is characterized by versatile usability that covers both daily life and leisure.
Since then, KGM has led the popularization of the domestic pickup market with a diverse lineup including Actyon Sports (2006?2011), Korando Sports (2012?2017), and the current Rexton Sports (2018?2025).
KGM will integrate and operate newly developed and launched pickup models under the Musso brand. The first model of the Musso brand is the country's first electric pickup, 'O100 (project name)', with the model name Musso EV (MUSSO EV).
The Musso EV is a model that combines the operational economy of electric vehicles with the inherent utility and practical style of pickups. It allows for various customization options. This model will be pre-exhibited at the 2025 Hwacheon Sancheoneo Festival and is scheduled to be launched within the first quarter of this year.
A KGM official said, "Through this brand launch, we will write a new paradigm once again as the leader of K-pickups," adding, "We will continue the legacy of Musso by developing and expanding a diverse portfolio of pickup lineups in the future."
