After Korea & Company Group acquired Hanon Systems, it carried out its first organizational restructuring on the 20th. To enhance global competitiveness, it established four region-centered Regional Business Groups and strengthened the control tower role of the 'Global HQ' leading the group.
First, execution-focused 'Regional Business Groups' will be newly established in four regions: Asia-Pacific, China, the United States, and Europe. Key business functions such as sales, product planning, production, quality control, purchasing, and finance, which were previously handled by the Global HQ, will be divided and transferred to each group.
This is to grant practical authority to each regional head and create a structure where decision-making and communication are connected quickly and smoothly. A Hanon Systems official explained the background of this restructuring as "a change to quickly adapt to the global market situation where future strategies differ significantly by region and automaker."
The newly appointed heads of the regional business groups are Park Jeong-ho, President of Hanon Systems, in charge of Hyundai Motor Group and the Asia-Pacific Business Group; Vice President Seo Jeong-ho for the Europe Business Group; Executive Director Park Jeong-su for the China Business Group. The Americas Business Group will be led by Vice President Brian Trudeau, who previously managed Hanon Systems' Global Sales Group.
President Park has built expertise in various fields such as purchasing, strategic planning, and Americas marketing at Hankook Tire, and served as the head of Hanon Systems' Global Purchasing Headquarters from 2016 to 2018. Having held positions such as Head of Asia-Pacific and Central Asia Division and OE (Original Equipment) Division at Hankook Tire, he is regarded as the ideal person to lead Hanon Systems' business targeting automaker brands in the Asia region.
Vice President Seo has experience as an engineer for the American automaker GM and has worked in various industries and roles including the U.S. automotive sector, secondary batteries, displays, electronics, and semiconductors. He has led numerous technology strategies and overseas business transactions, including serving as COO of Doosan Solus and head of its European branch.
Executive Director Park is a 'China mobility market expert' who held key positions such as OE manager, strategic planning manager, and distribution manager at Hankook Tire's China headquarters. He possesses optimal expertise to conduct business tailored to the characteristics of the Chinese market and automaker brands.
Vice President Trudeau began his career as a product design engineer for American automaker brands and has accumulated about 35 years of experience in the global automotive industry. He has diverse experience in sales, product planning and strategy, and financial analysis, and will smoothly lead the U.S. business at Hanon Systems while serving as an executive in core functions such as finance, planning, sales, and marketing.
Meanwhile, Hanon Systems will strengthen the control tower function of the 'Global HQ,' focusing on strategy and innovation planning functions. The Global HQ is responsible for securing future growth engines and creating sustainable business models through mid- to long-term planning and direction setting. Additionally, strengthening financial soundness and creating synergy among group affiliates are also roles of the Global HQ. While financial, accounting, and management functions delegated to each region will be managed by the Global HQ, it plans to accelerate the improvement of the financial structure, which is an urgent task.
A Hanon Systems official said, "Through this organizational restructuring, we expect various effects ranging from securing financial soundness in the short term to strengthening global market competitiveness in the long term by creating a swift and efficient decision-making system," adding, "With synergy combining the strengths of both companies, we will establish ourselves as a company leading innovation in the global mobility market."
