Securing 2 Billion Won... "Creating a Year-Round Resort Destination"
Gochang County in North Jeolla Province announced on the 9th that it will carry out a large-scale renovation project to transform Seonunsan Provincial Park into a year-round recreational destination.
This renovation project, with a total budget of 2 billion KRW secured for this year, will focus on user-centered improvements such as maintenance of the ecological forest, repair of aging facilities, and upgrades to hazardous sections of hiking trails.
In particular, a major transformation is planned for the "Ecological Forest" located at the entrance of Seonunsan. The Ecological Forest is an environmental education site created to protect native tree species, preserve the ecosystem, and allow visitors to experience nature.
To continue the value of the Ecological Forest, the county plans to invest 700 million KRW to plant additional wildflowers and improve facilities such as the visitor center, making it a refreshing space that represents Seonunsan.
Additionally, 1.3 billion KRW will be invested to enhance the safety and convenience of Seonunsan Provincial Park.
The county expects that, upon completion, this project will contribute to revitalizing the local economy and improving the quality of life for residents. Through continuous management and development plans, they aim to maximize the appeal of Seonunsan Provincial Park.
Kim Jongshin, head of the county's Forest and Greenery Division, said, "Through this project, Seonunsan Provincial Park is expected to be reborn as a year-round recreational destination where visitors can enjoy flowers in spring, lush forests in summer, colorful foliage in autumn, and snowy landscapes in winter," adding, "We will do our best to provide visitors with an even safer and more pleasant environment."
